The Great Food Truck Race Story... And Beyond!
It all started with a dream (and a casting call).
What do you say when someone asks if you want to drop your day job and put life on hold for a few months to go run a food truck - something you've never done before - on a reality TV show for a major TV network? Well, if you're from our family, you say YES.
It started on a whim, but our television journey ended with three cousins from Michigan redefining what it meant to be the "underdog" on season 10 of Food Network's "The Great Food Truck Race".
We won't spoil the show for you, but let's just say you will probably enjoy all 8 episodes in season 10. 😝
Fast forward a few years and...
We've made our dream a reality by starting our first small business: A Michigan-based food truck specializing in... you guessed it! BRUNCH. Thanks to many loyal fans, and the support of our friends and family, we were able to harness the good vibes being sent our way and turn it into motivation to make this crazy food truck dream a reality.
In April of 2020 we bought a food truck, named her Brunchin' Betty, and then WORKED OUR BRUNCHY BUTTS OFF to load her up with top-notch equipment. We hired a staff, fine-tuned a unique brunch menu, sourced local ingredients, and most of all, we learned about what it REALLY takes to open a food truck. Hint: it was way easier on TV!
The Brunch Babes Food Truck opened to the public for the first time in the summer of 2020, and we had a wildly successful first season.
And all because of you.
Our success was only possible due to our loving, loyal, and caring fan base cheering us on, some even driving hundreds of miles this summer - all to get a taste of a Donut Sammy - or some Rueben Loaded Tots.
Now, driving across three states for some tater tots you saw on TV a few years ago may seem a little... weird to some people, but as we like to say: "Life is about the journey" - And we will be forever grateful to our fans who gave us this journey of a lifetime. You've changed our lives.
And we hope we've made you proud.
